University of Cuba consolidates international approach

Camagüey, Cuba, Jul 18 (Prensa Latina) Expanding knowledge and scientific cooperation are currently marked by events such as the International Fair of the University of Camagüey, in Cuba's central region.

After the recent conclusion of the event, the educational institution has managed to consolidate exchanges and experiences, mainly with academies in Europe, as its researchers showed in keynote speeches directed to France.

The University’s official Facebook profile reports that researcher Redimio Pedraza and Science Doctorate, Maria Isabel Bardina, presented their experiences in scientific collaboration with institutions and specialists from the French country.

Olivera, a professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, presented the results of the project, “Contribution to the sustainable development of the agri-food sector, advancing towards a greener future in the central-eastern region of Cuba” (PROYLAIF), coordinated by the French Development Agency (AFD).”

Important institutions have collaborated with the University of Camaguey in several projects for the advancement of the sector, including the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Camagüey.

PROYLAIF, who is also known as the Prodegan Project, with an international character, stands out in the Cuban Agriculture Ministry’s agenda, in which figures place great hopes in the short term.

Financed by the French Development Agency, the first phase will last until 2024 and covers four municipalities in the region.

As part of the scientific collaboration with France, the International Fair also featured a presentation by Bardina Torres, a researcher at the University of Cantabria.

The International Fair of the University of Camagüey promotes internationalization.
