Lawmakers are analyzing the progress of the Cuban Government’s action plan to correct distortions and revive the economy.
Gathered at Havana’s Convention Center, the parliamentarians have learned about the state of the domestic economy at the end of the first semester of this year, and received an update on the progress of the execution of the State budget for 2024 and the liquidation of the 2023 budget.
The Domestic Trade Ministry (MINCIN) and the Provincial People’s Power Government of Villa Clara province will submit their report to the Parliament.
The legislators will also elect the lay judges of the Supreme People’s Court (TSP), and debate the bills on Citizenship, Migration and Foreigners, as well as those on Administrative Procedures, Transparency, and Access to Public Information, and the System of Honorary Titles and Decorations.
Made up of more than 400 lawmakers, the National People’s Power Assembly is the highest legislative body in Cuba and has the world’s largest number of women. jg/iff/mem/mks
