According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lin Jian, the United States intentionally spread false information to discredit the human rights situation in China and imposed visa restrictions arbitrarily on Chinese officials.
This “is serious interference in domestic affairs and a flagrant violation of international law and the basic principles of international relations,” he stressed.
In response, Lin Jian noted that Beijing will impose visa restrictions, according to the law, on US officials who defame human rights in China, promote sanctions against China and harm national interests.
The spokesman recalled that the United Nations Human Rights Council unanimously approved China’s report in the fourth universal periodic review, which in his opinion clearly demonstrates that the international community values this nation’s achievements on human rights.
“The United States has neither the right nor the qualification to criticize the human rights situation in other countries,” Lin Jian stressed.
