The Chilean president and his Paraguayan counterpart, Santiago Peña, will participate in a business meeting and an honorary session in Congress.
This is Boric’s second trip to Paraguay as head of state, after the one in August last year to participate in Peña’s inauguration.
The president will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Alberto van Klaveren, the Minister of Economy Nicolás Grau; the Minister of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, Carolina Arredondo, and the Minister of Public Works Jessica López.
Parliamentarians and governors of the regions of Tarapacá and Antofagasta, the president of the Association of Municipalities of Port and Coastal Cities, Mauricio Soria, and businessmen from different unions will also participate in the official visit.
One of the topics that will be addressed during the visit is the Bioceanic Road Corridor, a project to strengthen infrastructure, encourage trade, and promote tourism between Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile.
Trade between the two countries increased from 1,338 million dollars in 2017 to 1,764 million in 2022.
