The Spanish leader received Orsi, who spent a few days vacationing in Spain after winning with a large majority the candidacy from the Frente Amplio in view of the October 27 Uruguayan national elections.
It was a necessary meeting with the President of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, he wrote in X.
“How valuable these exchanges are to reckon and strengthen the link between progressive and left-wing movements around the world”, the Uruguayan politician added.
The Frente Amplio candidate appreciated what he described as a “warm reception” by the Spanish president.
