Basseterre, Jul 15 (Prensa Latina) The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank disbursed one million dollars to support the reconstruction of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada, after the destructive impact of Hurricane Beryl, the media reported today.

According to the regional website Loops Caribbean News, the funds will enable both nations to finance efforts to assist thousands of victims in their territories.

The Bank will also take other measures to facilitate the operations of customers in those countries affected by the devastation caused by Beryl.

The Caribbean institution thus joined governments and organizations inside and outside the region that are contributing with cash donations, shipments of basic necessities and the deployment of specialists to the recovery of Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Multiple national, regional and international initiatives are also underway to provide assistance following the passage of Hurricane Beryl, which passed through the area with a category four storm, leaving nearly a dozen dead, in addition to a brutal disaster in the infrastructure, agriculture, tourism and other economic sectors.
