On his X profile, Maduro wrote on Saturday evening that he “firmly rejects and repudiates the attack on the former president and presidential candidate of the United States.”

“May God bless the US people and give them peace,” he said.

The message is accompanied by an audiovisual of the head of State during a political campaign in Guacara, north-central Carabobo state, in which he wished Trump health and a long life.

“I want, on behalf of all Venezuela, our people, to reject and repudiate the attack on the former president… and I wish him a speedy recovery, and God bless the people of the United States and give them peace,” he stressed.

The Venezuelan president recalled that he had also been a victim of “an attack and 100 attempts to kill me, but God always placed his hand and here we are, alive, healthy, and victorious, ready to face the future.”
