A video message from the Cuban head of State was shown at the opening of the event, in which he called to promote development as the central axis of the system of international relations, arrange efficient cooperation to reduce inequality gaps and advance in the execution of the Agenda 2030.
According to the Foreign Ministry, this event and in particular the Global Development Initiative, represents a valuable forum for Cuba to promote exchange and cooperation on a global scale.
The Cuban delegation attending the event is headed by Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Tapia, who will also complete a bilateral program that includes meetings with Chinese authorities.
This year’s edition of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development brings together high-level representatives from more than 50 nations and international organizations.
The main activities include five parallel sub-forums on the eight key areas of cooperation of the Global Development Initiative.
