Padron highlighted that the South American nation became a demanded destination for travelers coming from these countries and attributed it to the opening of new air routes, which increased by 38 percent.
He indicated that the Bolivarian Republic was included among the three countries with the highest percentage of international air connectivity in Latin America.
The forecasts for the second half of 2024 are flattering due to the arrival of the holiday season, he pointed out, and said that the Caribbean is attractive for the European market in November and December.
He predicted that the figure reached in the first six months of the year is an indication of the possibility of surpassing the figure of international tourists reached in 2023, when a total of one million 256 000 foreign visitors were received.

Venezuela recibió más de un millón de turistas en primer semestre
Caracas, 11 jul (Prensa Latina) Venezuela recibió al cierre del primer semestre del presente año más de un millón 90 mil turistas internacionales, un crecimiento de más de 400 mil visitantes al logrado en el igual periodo del 2023, publicó hoy la prensa local.
El dato ratifica la consolidación de esta llamada ‘arma secreta de la economía venezolana’, que mantiene un ritmo de crecimiento de 11 trimestres consecutivos, declaró el ministro del sector en el país, Alí Padrón, en entrevista con el medio digital La Iguana TV y difundido este jueves por el diario Últimas Noticias.
Los principales destinos provinieron de Rusia Polonia, Colombia, Irán, Cuba y Portugal.
Padrón destacó que la nación sudamericana se convirtió en un demandado destino para viajeros procedentes de estos países y lo atribuyó a la apertura de nuevas rutas aéreas, que aumentaron un 38 por ciento.
El titular indicó que la República Bolivariana se incluyó entre los tres países de mayor porcentaje de conectividad aérea internacional en Latinoamérica.
Los pronósticos para el segundo semestre del 2024 son halagüeños por la llegada de la temporada vacacional, apuntó, y significó que el Caribe resulta atractivo para el mercado europeo en los meses de noviembre y diciembre.
Vaticinó que la cifra alcanzada en los primeros seis meses del año es un indicativo de la posibilidad de superar la cifra de turistas internacionales alcanzada en 2023, cuando se recibió un total de un millón 256 mil visitantes extranjeros.
