UN denounces humanitarian crisis in Gaza due to Israel’s aggression

Gaza-Desplazados-1
Ramallah, Jul 11 (Prensa Latina) Nearly 1.9 million people have been displaced by the Israel's aggression against Gaza, which is going through an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, due to the constant bombings, destruction and lack of vital items, the United Nations denounced.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) noted in its latest report on the subject that many of these people have been forced to flee up to nine or 10 times.

The attacks by Israeli forces continue, causing civilian casualties, displacement and the destruction of residential structures, questioned the UN agency, which criticized the new ground offensive against the city of Khan Yunis, causing the exodus of 250,000 Palestinians, a situation that has deepened the humanitarian crisis and further destabilized aid flows.

OCHA revealed that some 50,000 children have been born in the Gaza Strip in the last nine months “often under traumatic, unhealthy conditions and without basic services.”

It also denounced the constant attacks on hospitals and healthcare centers, affected by the overcrowding of patients, injured and refugees, in addition to the lack of medicines, food and fuel to operate the electric generators.

The agency pointed out that since October 2023, 453 incidents affecting facilities of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Middle East (UNRWA) have been reported.

More than 500 displaced people in UNRWA buildings have been killed during the attacks and more than 1,600 were injured, the agency stressed.
