Havana, July 11 (Prensa Latina) The Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero, today considered the temporary regulation of maximum retail prices for products imported by economic actors as a necessary measure.

This was stated by the head of Government during the monthly meeting of the working group for the Prevention and Confrontation of Crimes and Illegalities.

Marrero emphasized the importance of the approved standard to contain the rise in prices of products in high demand and drew attention to the control actions to guarantee compliance with it.

“We are in a fight from the Ministry of Finance and Prices, in the different provinces, and the objective of these initial days is not to go to extremes, but to persuade, although we ratify the will to enforce what has been established,” he stressed.

According to the official account of the Government of Cuba in X, the meeting also analyzed compliance with the measures aimed at preventing and combatting fuel theft.

The participants evaluated the poor results of the Guantánamo Urban Bus Base Business Unit, subordinated to the Local Bodies of People´s Power of that territory. In this regard, the prime minister specified that criminal legal actions and the work of the police do not replace administrative control.

At another point in his speech, he praised the work of social workers in the popular councils, and insisted on the necessary integration with the Prevention and Social Care Groups in the communities.

During the meeting, the behavior of the indicators in the battle against illegalities was evaluated, an area in which he revealed that the criminal record remains high, although with a decrease compared to April.
