The graduation took place at the Protocol Hall of the Ignacio Agramonte Square, which according to UC Rector Santiago Lajes, “is fundamental for Cuba’s economy and the country in general.”

The science that illuminates all spaces, as Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel stated in a convention in 2023, is once again the standard of this society.

Among the graduates from the UC is sports glory Denia Betancourt, with studies in Education Sciences with a thesis on the Teaching Upgrading in Special Education, aimed developing the program of young athletes at the Special Olympics.

“It is important because the children are motivated in a recreational way, they are encouraged to future sports that they like, and that push them beyond sports, in their social life.”

Sixty 60 PhDs from six programs: Economics, Accounting, Physical Culture, Veterinary Sciences, Chemical Engineering and Educational Sciences, will be available for the welfare of the people and to be protagonists in the government development agenda.

The UC is among the main universities of its kind in the country that has a constant practice of doctoral training and where its counterparts in Las Villas, Oriente in Santiago de Cuba, and the University of Havana also stand out.
