The Colombian vice-president confirmed yesterday that her security personnel was attacked with a bullet in Timba, Cauca, in the southwest of the country.

Marquez assured that the attack took place moments after leaving the municipality of Suarez, Cauca, where she is from.

We have nothing to regret, but I cannot fail to express my enormous concern for Cauca and the permanent tension that my people are experiencing every day,’ she said.

She called on the criminal groups to ‘silence the rifles, allow Cauca to live in peace and make the University program in this territory move forward’.
