Diaz-Canel highlighted that the athletes who will represent the Caribbean nation in the sports events were flag bearers on Tuesday.
As part of the ceremony, held at the Plaza de la Revolucion, the Order of Sports Merit was awarded to multi-Olympic and Paralympic champions Mijain Lopez and Omara Durand.
The Cuban delegation to the Paris 2024 Games is made up of 62 Olympic athletes and 17 Paralympic athletes who have qualified so far.
