Our staff “is exhausted after nine months of continuous work, despite being only two hours away from Ramallah, our colleagues are not allowed to enter Gaza,” the humanitarian organization criticized in a message on its X profile.
We urgently request a rotation of the humanitarian staff to allow PRCS members in the West Bank to replace their colleagues in the coastal enclave,” it stressed.
The organization affirmed that its more than 1,000 members in Gaza are exhausted after working for nine months under terrible conditions. It recalled that many of them were also displaced along with their families.
The PRCS stated that since the outbreak of the current cycle of violence on October 7, more than 30 of its workers have been killed in the Gaza Strip, nearly 20 of them while carrying out their humanitarian duty.
An estimated 193 members of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) have been killed in the Strip in eight months.
