“The president of Brazil is already arriving next week, he would be arriving on Monday night and on Tuesday there would be an agenda that is being coordinated, the details are being finalized,” she said.
She added that the binational meeting will address bilateral, economic and productive issues, in addition to the meeting with businessmen and productive sectors of Bolivia.
The Confederation of Private Businessmen of Bolivia (CEPB), meanwhile, is preparing the meeting to be held on July 9 with the visiting dignitary in Santa Cruz on investments and bilateral trade, according to the president of that institution, Giovanni Ortuño.
The Brazilian president will arrive in Bolivia after participating 24 hours earlier in the Summit of Heads of State of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), in Paraguay, which will also be attended by Bolivian president, Luis Arce.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the presidents will address a broad agenda of topics such as energy (hydroelectric and biodiesel), fertilizers, productive and road infrastructure, as well as trade issues.
The South American giant is one of Bolivia’s main trading partners, both countries share a border of more than three thousand kilometers and a common political history, both past and recent.
Lula da Silva was one of the presidents who, last June 26, expressed his solidarity with the Bolivian government and people in the face of the failed coup d’état led by former army chief Juan José Zúñiga.
