omar-garcia
Bogotá, July 4 (Prensa Latina) Members of the Solidarity Movement with Cuba and other personalities from Colombia today express their regret over the death of Cuban communicator and diplomat Omar García, who died in a road accident.

One of those who extended his condolences was president of the Comunes Party, Rodrigo Londoño, who lamented the death of a young cadre loyal to the Cuban Revolution and his people.

Colombia has lost a great friend and defender of peace, he said.

He also conveyed his solidarity and feeling of regret at the physical disappearance of García, whose example and commitments, he noted, will continue to live on, serving as an example to all revolutionaries convinced that another more just and equitable world is possible.

Colombian senator Carlos Antonio Losada also conveyed his condolences for the death of the Cuban diplomat, who he defined as a revolutionary who knew how to fulfill the assigned tasks, including contributing to the peace of his country.

The National Directorate of the Colombian Communist Party released a message in which it expressed its solidarity and support in the face of the death of the comrade.

Likewise, the political and social movement Congress of the People of Colombia regretted the death of García, whom it described as a friend of social processes in the South American nation.

He sought to build the paths of peace necessary for our people. As a good revolutionary, he did not see peace only in disarmament and demobilization, but in the structural changes necessary for the construction of a dignified life, the statement noted.
