The main countries of origin are the United States, with a share of 27.4%; Ecuador with 7.8% and Mexico with 7.7%.
Additionally, the source pointed out that the number of visitors from Costa Rica (51.8%), Mexico (21.4%) and Ecuador (20%) surged with respect to the same month of the previous year.
The main destinations chosen by visitors were Bogota (36.5%), Antioquia (24.6%) and Bolivar (20%).
The Civil Aeronautics also reported that, according to airport connectivity figures, in the first five months of 2024 close to 22.1 billion passengers moved through the country’s air terminals, reporting an upturn of 17% compared to the same term in 2023.
This means, he pointed out that an additional 3.1 billion people flew through Colombian airports between January and May of 2024.
