Western sanctions against Russia have failed, Moscow says

Moscow, Jul 3 (Prensa Latina) The recognition of Russia as a high-income country by the World Bank demonstrates the ineffectiveness of Western sanctions, Russian permanent representative at international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, stated.

The official wrote on his Telegram channel that the World Bank has just moved Russia from the category of upper-middle-income countries to that of high-income countries, and this change in categorization demonstrates how ineffective the anti-Russia sanctions have been.

“The Western measures against Russia have turned out to be a complete fiasco for their promoters,” Ulyanov summarized.

Previously, the World Bank had published a document indicating that each resident in Russia has a gross income of 14,250 dollars a year.

The Bank classifies as high-income countries those states where this indicator is set at a minimum of 13,845 dollars.
