According to the press release, Biden called up Ramaphosa to congratulate him on his recent reelection and the successful setting up of the Government of National Unity.
In the course of the dialogue, the US leader pledged that the United States will work closely with the seventh administration in South Africa in key areas such as economic growth, job creation, social development and climate change, as well as South Africa’s presidency of the G20 in 2025.
Biden also confirmed that he will visit South Africa and participate in the G20 meetings.
Ramaphosa, in turn, expressed his appreciation for this commitment and extended an invitation to the US President for a state visit on a date to be set by the respective diplomatic teams.
