The main program of the event is scheduled for July 4, but bilateral meetings on the sidelines will start on Wednesday, the Kazakh Government said.
Putin will meet today with at least six heads of State, including the presidents of Turkey, China, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Pakistan.
Contacts were agreed upon for Thursday with acting Iranian President Mohamed Mojber, who has led the country since President Ebrahim Raisi’s death in a helicopter crash.
Other meetings have not been ruled out.
The Summit’s program also includes the debate of the international and regional agenda, as well as the signing of 24 documents.
The SCO Summit will be held under the theme “Strengthening multilateral dialogue: pursuit of sustainable peace and development.”
