Petro rejected accusations made to a Colombian state entity

Bogotá, July 3 (Prensa Latina) The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, today rejected the accusations attributed to the Immigration Department for alleged incorrect handling regarding the delivery of immigration cards released during this day by the country's Attorney General's Office.

“There can be no corruption in contracts signed between public entities, which are always opposed by those who do want private profits,” the ruler wrote on his social network X.

In his opinion, those who oppose the strategy of linking two state entities are, as he called them, widowers of the state’s milking, and they do so for obvious reasons: corruption.

“The contract between Immigration and the National Printing Office has already delivered three thousand immigration cards, and shows that this is the way,” said the president.

The Colombian Attorney General’s Office announced today that it opened a disciplinary investigation against the Director of Immigration, Carlos García, for alleged irregularities in a contract signed for the printing of immigration cards.
