Petro rejected accusations against Colombia’s state agency

Bogota, Jul 3 (Prensa Latina) Colombian president Gustavo Petro, today rejected the accusations made against the Migration department for alleged mismanagement in the delivery of foreigners' identity cards disclosed this day by the Attorney General's Office of the country.

There can be no corruption in the contracts signed between public agencies which are always opposed by those who do want private gains’, wrote the governor in his social network X.

In his opinion, those who oppose the strategy of linking two state entities are, as he called them, widowers of the milking of the state, and they do so for obvious reasons: corruption.

The contract between Migration and the National Printing Office has already delivered three thousand foreigners’ identification cards, and shows that this is the way forward’, the president said.

The Colombian Attorney General’s Office announced today that it opened a disciplinary investigation to the Migration director, Carlos García, for alleged irregularities in a contract signed for the printing of foreigners’ identification cards.
