Hotel Trinidad de Cuba advocates caring for the environment

medioambiente3-1
Sancti Spíritus, Cuba, July 3 (Prensa Latina) The Hotel Memories Trinidad del Mar, located on the Ancón peninsula, in Trinidad de Cuba, stands out today for its contributions to caring for the environment with actions in accordance with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Last June, within the framework of World Environment Day, it received the Environmental Beach certification, in recognition of the care of the strip or beach front where this Trinidad facility is located.

In exclusive statements to Prensa Latina, its general director Raúl García Baltasar pointed out this certification means pride and responds to the daily work of the entity’s group of workers.

This hotel chose responsible tourism and with the help of the territorial delegation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (Citma), the Government and Party of Sancti Spíritus to fulfill the 2030 Agenda, he highlighted.

There are 10 actions carried out in the tourist facility, which include the correct management of solid and organic waste, the location of baskets to deposit waste, the care of the ecosystem and the implementation of a series of solar panels, he said.

“We want to put more panels, because with them we generate electric light, we save energy carriers and we generate heat and that energy allows our rooms to have hot water,” he stressed.

We want our entire hotel plant to have a complete set of photovoltaic cells for electric light that is generated by the Sun, he added.

Later, he noted: “Let’s make Casilda Bay and the Ancón peninsula truly our second Varadero, for what it represents for tourism and for the conservation of the beach, the dune, the coastline and the fine sand.”

During Prensa Latina’s tour of the beach areas, it was found that there are accesses to it through plastic eco-wood walkways, signs and posters that advocate environmental protection.

Beach huts were also built under all the requirements established by Citma, while the vegetative species that protect the ecological zone on the margins of the beach front prevent erosion.

According to experts, this recognition of the facility of the Cubanacán Hotel Group, managed by Blue Diamond Resort is an added value for the marketing of tourist centers that promote the modality of sun and beach tourism.
