The group, headed by INHR Vice President Javier Toledo Tapanes, arrived in this capital on Monday and was welcomed by Ethiopian State Minister of Water and Energy Asfaw Dingamo; his advisor, Abera Endeshaw, and Cuban Chargé d’Affaires Natalys Dinza.
During their stay, the Cuban specialists will tour water infrastructure projects in various regions of the country in response to a visit to Cuba made by Dingamo last year, which resulted in water cooperation projects.
Local media recalled that Ethiopia and Cuba will celebrate the 49th anniversary of bilateral relations, based on friendship and cooperation, next July 18.
Reporters also highlighted the deployment of Cuban troops who fought alongside Ethiopian forces in defense of sovereignty and territorial integrity against external expansionist efforts, as well as the provision of services by medical collaborators since 1978, when the first group of 300 professionals from different specialties arrived in Addis Ababa.
