On his X profile, the head of State noted that during the meeting, he thanked Francis for his acknowledgement of Cuba’s performance and commitment to seeking solutions to the challenges of the nations of the South during its presidency of the Group of 77 and China.
“We agree on the dissimilar challenges imposed by the current international scenario and the need to strengthen multilateralism and the UNGA, as the most democratic body of the United Nations system,” the Cuban president noted.
On Friday, Francis also met with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and paid tribute to Cuban National Hero José Martí at Revolution Square.
He also gave the master lecture, entitled “Cuba and Multilateralism: Opportunities and Challenges,” at the Main Lecture Hall of the University of Havana.
