On his X account, Rodríguez noted that Cuba is not alone, and shared the letter published by IP, which called to mobilize to end Cuba’s long persecution by the Government of the United States.
The text highlights that throughout its revolutionary history, more than 605,000 Cuban professionals and healthcare technicians have provided their services in some 165 countries.
It added that if Cuba sponsors anything, it is peace, for its role in the agreements to bring it to Colombia and also liberation, for the epic of Cuba’s internationalist forces in the liberation of Angola and Namibia, and the elimination of apartheid in South Africa.
The letter recalled that Cuba has been a victim of more than six decades a blockade that, as expressed in the infamous secret memorandum of April 1960 from then Undersecretary of State Lester Mallory, was intended to drive the people to desperation with the aim of overthrowing their social project.
Progressive International was established in Vermont, the United States, in 2013, with the mission of achieving the establishment of a more democratic, decolonized, just, egalitarian, supportive, sustainable, ecological, peaceful, post-capitalist, prosperous and pluralistic world, according to its promoters.
