According to local television RTS, the president assessed the assault on a member of the gendarmerie and announced the arrest of several people as a precaution near police facilities.

Previously, the Serbian Government had reported that in the attempted attack on Israel’s diplomatic seat in Belgrade, a police officer was injured with a crossbow, and the attacker was killed.

According to Minister Ivica, the special prosecutor’s office is now investigating the case and there are suspicions that people supposedly linked to the Wahhabi movement, an ultra-conservative branch of Islam, are related to the attack.
