In statements to Prensa Latina, he noted that getting the right to celebrate the main event on July 26, amid difficulties and the United States unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, is a sign of the results and progress made by the province.

Valdés affirmed that it is a well-deserved recognition, a sign of an extraordinary effort by the people, who will celebrate National Rebelliousness Day with dignity.

The statements were made by the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba at the conclusion of the analysis of the rice strategy in this central province.

The Political Bureau chose Sancti Spiritus to celebrate the main event on the July 26 commemoration, due to its stability in the fulfillment of the main tasks in the economic, political and social fields, as well as for the sustained contribution from production and service workers, farmers, intellectuals and other sectors of local society.
