The cases involve the falsification of vaccination certificates and the illegal sale of jewelry belonging to the State and hoarded by the former ruler. In both files, the denunciation made by Bolsonaro’s former aide, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, was vital.

Cid made use of the recourse, trying to minimize the criminal impact of the revelations.

The Federal Police has evidence that Cid acted in person in the preparation of false anti-Covid-19 inoculation cards for his boss and family when Bolsonaro intended to travel to the United States. He also appears involved in the sale of jewelry, especially in the US, gifted by Saudi Arabian authorities during his trips abroad.

Cid confessed to the PF that he delivered an amount of the capital obtained from the illegal sales to the former president during an official trip to New York.

Cid is under investigation for allegedly trading in jewelry given by Saudi authorities.

Bolsonaro is currently involved in at least five investigations at the STF; one of the most complex is that of digital militias, which covers the coup attempt of January 8th, 2023 in Brasilia.
