According to the president, in 2022 the Navy received 24 new ships, and in 2023 it acquired 33, therefore a sustained increase can be seen in that direction.
Putin recalled that one of Russia’s tasks is to “comprehensively develop the Navy, including naval, aviation and ground components, base infrastructure, strengthening (the Navy’s) positions in strategically important areas of the World Ocean, qualitatively increasing its combat potential”.
“A lot has been done in this direction: our fleet is being replenished with new ships equipped with modern weapons, repairs, and deep modernizations are being carried out,” the president emphasized.
