According to local authorities, this initiative was carried out in cooperation with the Russian governmental medical company Nizhny Novograd, and also included the inauguration of two floors in the orphanage with a capacity to house some 40 children.
The aid consisted of food baskets to orphaned children and workers, as well as the inauguration of facilities and an enlargement of the orphanage, the head of the Humanitarian Aid Department at the Russian Center, Lieutenant Colonel Sergey Ratushin, said.
Timur Karmov, representative of the Nizhny Novograd company, said that this aid is handed over in the context of cooperation between the Russian Federation and Syria in various fields.
The director of the orphanage, Walid Asmar, thanked Russia for providing this assistance that will help the orphanage to receive as many orphans as possible and provide them with the necessary care.
