The event, organized by social movements, trade unions, and regional political parties, will be held in the context of the 15th anniversary of the coup d’état against Honduran President Manuel Zelaya and the 15th anniversary of the popular resistance in the country. Celac-Social Honduras 2024 has on its agenda seminars on women and youth, thematic tables on education, defense of land, labor dignity, and judicialization of politics, among other topics.
In addition, delegates to the conclave will discuss the challenges of regional integration, the role of social movements and will attend the workshop “There is no independence without democratic communication.”
On the 29th the plenary of CELAC-Social will be held followed by the working tables, and it is expected that the day will conclude with the presentation of a final declaration.
