King Felipe VI meets with Latin American youths

Madrid, Jun 26 (Latin Press) All 25 participants in the 19th Young Ibero-American Leaders program were received by King Felipe VI at the Zarzuela Palace on Wednesday.

The king talked behind closed doors with the recent graduates, who come from 20 Latin American countries and were chosen for their outstanding records.

The idea of the course, launched in Madrid last Monday, is to train young people in leadership, while consolidating the ties between Spain and Latin America.

The program is organized by the Carolina Foundation, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and Banco Santander.

In addition to visiting the Spanish capital, participants attended events in Barcelona and Brussels, where they visited the headquarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). They also met with the president of the Council of State of Spain, Carmen Calvo.

The youths, who will be trained until July 5, expressed to Felipe VI their willingness to promote mutual knowledge and generate Ibero-American leadership networks in dialogue with Spain.
