Its assortments -a dozen products derived from the industrial process- transcend the territory and are demanded by trading companies, in sectors such as tourism, in addition to being integrated into the chaining and export to capture of income in foreign currency.
During his visit to the center last May and at meetings with executives and workers, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said that the group is “a good example,” which fulfills its mission globally, amid a complex context.
Ignacio Istusi Gonzalez, director of the factory, attached to Empresa de Productos Lácteos Río Zaza, (Dairy Products Enterprice)’ in the city of Yayabo, said that the results are endorsed by the unity of more than 160 workers, their initiatives and sense of belonging to maintain efficiency and quality in their products.
In the current stage, priority is given to the production of Mérida cheese and its melted, white and spring variants, as well as yogurt, butter, milk caramel, and natiflan, among other assortments for tourism, healthcare and daycare centers, gastronomy and the population.
According to the program, the factory will receive more than seven million liters of milk for its production this year, even though in times of drought it supports the province of Ciego de Avila, Havana and Sancti Spíritus. Since its establishment in 1946, the company has made a difference in the Cuban market due to the quality of its products.
