Juan Manuel Meneses, deputy director of production, explained to Prensa Latina that comprehensive strengthening begins with genetic work, which is vital in the livestock sector, in which technology benefits progress.

He highlighted the progress made at the Dos Rios Farm, with the Siboney from Cuba, a breed that is well adapted to tropical conditions, has high production levels and is very strong in terms of health.

Artificial insemination with semen from selected bulls of high genetic value plays a fundamental role in increasing the livestock mass, he added.

The company is supported by universities, polytechnics and various specialized institutions such as the Research Centre for the Improvement of Tropical Animal Husbandry.

Technicians, specialists and workers are key to attain the goals in the the food chain, with a distinctive protein base directed at the life cycle of the cattle.

Regarding the human resources, he commented that the objective is to humanize the work with technologies in favor of productivity and the application of genetics in order to achieve high levels of efficiency.

These tasks include mechanized milking, the organization of feeding methods where consumption per animal is not based on manual cutting and everything is linked to the use of animal quartering.
