Natalyz Dinza, chargé d’affaires of the Cuban Embassy in Addis Ababa, and representatives of the diplomatic missions of Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, the International Association of Universities OBREAL, and the AU discussed the preparatory agenda for the meeting, a press release stated.
They also discussed ways to contribute to the program through its several sessions and logistical information for potential foreign participants.
Under the slogan “Shared Solutions to Common Challenges in the Context of the African Year of Education,” next month’s meeting is being co-organized by the African continental organization and the Brazilian Government through the Ministry of Education and the Higher Education Improvement Coordination (CAPES).
Also participating are the Association of African Universities, the Latin American and Caribbean Space for Higher Education, and OBREAL.
Cuba will be represented by a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education, which will discuss its achievements in education.
The text stated that this event embodies the agreements reached by the AU, Latin America, and the Caribbean regarding higher education and institutions as vectors of regional and continental integration and development, highlighting South-South cooperation.
The agreements were formulated during the first edition of the interregional dialogue held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in March 2023.
