In its usual weekend statement, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (Cciap) pointed out that if there is something that the Executive that concludes its administration in one week showed, it was an alarming irresponsibility and lack of courage in making decisions on critical issues that affect the welfare and future of the country.
In this sense, it mentioned the Social Security Fund and its Disability, Old Age and Death Program, with a financial deficit, which leaves hundreds of thousands of Panamanians in uncertainty about the payment of their pensions and retirement benefits.
The reform of the educational system, called “the star” of the administration, was also pointed out but only as a campaign slogan because the result is the absence of necessary changes to improve the quality of teaching and preparing young people for a competitive future.
Another issue that has significantly deteriorated, according to Cciap, is the poor management of solid waste, a problem that directly affects public health, the quality of life and the image of the isthmus for tourists, in addition to leaving the communities in unhealthy and deteriorated conditions.
