Pierre Caporal, president of the Haitian Union of the Seventh-day Adventist Church reported that 55 facilities were closed as a result of the increased number of armed gangs taking over different communities and regions.
Over 2,000 Adventist families were displaced, among them 18 nuclei of pastors and conference and mission administrators.
Houses of 305 collective Adventist families were burned down by gangs, so it means they have lost all their belongings, Caporal added.
Some churches shut down and their members are trying to search online to follow other entities.
Others decided to listen to the service on Radio Voice of Hope, a station run by Seventh-day Adventists nationwide.
Some meet in tents or rent space, and most prefer to hold services in the evenings, as it is not safe for them at night.
