Hanoi, Jun 21 (Prensa Latina) Vietnam is commemorating the 99th anniversary of Revolutionary Press Day on Friday to honor the first edition in 1925 of Youth, a newspaper published by National Independence Hero Ho Chi Minh, then called Nguyen Ai Quoc.

Since 1919 and for many years of revolutionary activities, Nguyen Ai Quoc was the name used by the national liberation hero who founded the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth Association in 1925.

Through that newspaper, Ho Chi Minh began to spread the Marxism-Leninism ideology and paved the way for the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in February 1930.

Over the last 99 years, and under the leadership of the CPV and the State’s management, Vietnam’s revolutionary press system has continued to develop and contribute to the country’s progress in all fields, Nhan Dan newspaper pointed out in a graphic report dedicated to the anniversary on Friday.

Nhan Dan Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh stressed at an event on Thursday to mark the date that the journalistic contingent “has become a special force that reflects the nation’s struggle practices and achievements with authenticity and dynamism.”
