The Planalto Palace, headquarters of the Executive Branch in Brasilia, reported that da Silva will participate this Friday in a ceremony in Sao Luís, the state’s capital, to announce the implementation of the Graça Aranha renewable energy receiving pole and the public transportation corridor on Avenida Litoránea, which is a strategic route for urban mobility in Sao Luís, providing a public transportation axis that serves as an alternative to the congested routes in the center.
237 million reais (about 44 million dollars) will be invested in this expansion, which will implement an exclusive bus strip, expanding regional connectivity and integrating two important urban centers in the metropolitan area.
The renewable energy receiving pole is expected to cost nine billion reais (1.65 billion dollars) in investments for the construction of 602 kilometers of transmission lines, which will cross 14 municipalities in the state. The construction should generate three thousand direct jobs and nine thousand indirect jobs.
During the ceremony, the service order will also be announced for the expansion of the so-called Cuna 98 (area specialized in solid vegetable grains), and the renewal of the delegation contract of the Port of Itaqui, the main port of the country’s Central-North Corridor.
Moreover, equipment included in the “New Growth Acceleration Program” will be exhibited, which will primarily serve children, young people, adults, and the elderly living in regions considered highly vulnerable.
31 cities in the state will benefit from the construction of public units, for which approximately 46.5 million reais (more than eight million, 500 thousand dollars) will be allocated.
