Of a budget of about 405,000 dollars for the preparation and participation of our athletes, the HOC has less than 200,000 dollars, said Larsen. The COH was able to cover expenses of up to 180,000 dollars.
These amounts are used for the participation of several athletes in various qualifying competitions and the start of preparations for those who have already qualified for the games,’ Larsen said.
We need this amount -insisted the executive- to guarantee a good end to the preparation and the travel of the Haitian delegation, which will be done in several stages according to the calendar and the place of preparation of each athlete.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024 in Paris, France.
The Haitian delegation will be represented in athletics, boxing, gymnastics, judo and swimming.
The summer event will feature 32 sporting disciplines for a total of 329 events divided into 754 sessions, competitions and ceremonies, and will bring together a total of 10,500 athletes.
In the difficult context in which the country is living, a brilliant participation of our ambassadors will be a touch of happiness for the sporting community, Larsen commented.
