Haiti’s interim government declares war on corruption

Port-au-Prince, Jun 21 (Prensa Latina) Haiti's interim government has declared war on corruption, a scourge currently plaguing this nation, where large sums of capital disappear and illicit enrichment grows.

Haiti’s interim Prime Minister Garry Conille said the measures must be implemented immediately, as up to 30 percent of personnel working for the State will no longer be allowed to receive their wages while absent.

We will ban that the administration establishes a system for collecting funds not provided for by law,” Conille announced.

We will also purge the administration’s payroll and distribute debit cards.

Conille expressed that citizens must feel the State is working to improve their living conditions and will not tolerate corruption and impunity for those who squander the nation’s funds and assets.
