During his visit to the CEAC on June 20 in the evening, the Minister had a meeting with a representation of workers of the scientific institution, especially with young people, with whom he discussed various institutional issues.
He also toured the CEAC’s Environmental Testing Laboratory, where he was able to see the technological potential and first class equipment that the research centre has, accompanied by Yarina Soto Herrera, territorial delegate of Citma.
The Environmental Research Centre (CEAC) contributes to the study of processes, evaluation and solution of environmental conflicts, and to the sustainable use of natural resources through the use of advanced techniques, with a high level of professional preparation.
Earlier this month, the CEAC received in Monaco the plaque accrediting it as a ‘Collaborating Centre of the International Atomic Energy Agency for the Application of Nuclear and Isotope Techniques in the Study of Coastal-Marine Ecosystems in the Latin American and Caribbean Region’.
During more than a quarter of a century of existence, the CEAC has generated more than 370 scientific publications in national and international journals of impact, as a result of different research projects, and maintains as its main line of research the study of environmental problems and solutions in basins and coastal marine areas.
