According to the Escambray newspaper, the pilot, Armando Leyva Sosa, 57, has a simple head injury and descompensated blood pressure, and was transferred to the Camilo Cienfuegos hospital in the territorial capital, where he is undergoing other tests.
The crashed plane was fumigating rice crops of Empresa Sur del Jíbaro, according to Ernesto Cuéllar, director of the National Air Services Company (ENSA) in Sancti Spiritus.
Meanwhile, the relevant authorities are carrying out the required investigations to find out the reasons for the plane accident.
