According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, at least 5.9 million Palestinian refugees live on the occupied territories or in other countries.
About 2.5 million of them are displaced in the West Bank (15 percent) and the Gaza Strip (27 percent), accounting for 42 percent of the total.
Since the beginning of Israel’s aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7, the death toll in the coastal enclave has risen to more than 35,000.
Cuba calls for peace on these territories on the basis of the creation of two states, which would allow the people of Palestine to exercise their right to self-determination and to have an independent and sovereign state within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
