Bolivian Senate will analyze credits for infrastructure

La Paz, Jun 20 (Prensa Latina) The Senate of Bolivia will analyze the credits for 35 million dollars for the Norte Integrado-Yapacaní highway and the credits for 43 million for the construction of the urban integration of the city of Sucre.

The leader of the Senate Planning, Economy and Finance Commission, Isidoro Quispe, assured that the team approved the credit proposals on Wednesday and sent them to the Senate for analysis.

Both projects were approved in the Chamber of Deputies, therefore, once they are sanctioned by the senators they will be sent to the Executive Branch for promulgation.

The construction project of the Norte Integrado-Yapacaní highway, signed between Bolivia and the Andean Development Cooperation, was a demand of the residents of Yapacaní, who between June 7th and 14th blocked important routes that link Cochabamba and Santa Cruz, and even closed the valves of the Yarara X2 hydrocarbon well, which caused daily losses over 300 thousand bolivianos (nearly 43 thousand dollars).

The 30-kilometer-long route will link the northern region of the department of Santa Cruz with the rest of the country, and will improve commercial exchange, connectivity and integration, in the context of the East-West Corridor of Bolivia.

The other project supports the loan contract for the Sucre Urban Integration, Energy Efficiency and Urban Mobility Program, signed between the Plurinational State and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) for an amount of up to 43 million dollars.

The project will promote access to quality public spaces and sustainable mobility infrastructure, improve urban movement in the historic center of the city and reduce electricity consumption in public lighting, through the implementation of LED and digital technology.
