According to the chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Committee, the treaty has “a truly constructive, forward-looking, exclusively peaceful and defensive nature, and was designed to protect and defend the basic interests of the peoples of the two countries.”
The agreement, signed on Wednesday by Kim and President Vladimir Putin, includes mutual military assistance in case of an attack and will articulate the bilateral in pursuit of a new multipolar order contrary to the hegemonic attempts of the United States.
Kim assured that the comprehensive strategic partnership between his country and Russia serves the cause of building a multipolar world and responds to the change in the status of Pyongyang and Moscow on the world stage.
He stressed that the agreement is in line with the strategic nature of relations between the two countries and takes it to a higher stage.
The relations between our two countries are marching toward a promising and prosperous stage for the progress of the two states and the welfare of their peoples through cooperation in politics, economy, culture and military affairs, he said.

Acuerdo con Rusia es de carácter pacífico y defensivo, Kim Jong Un
Pyongyang, 19 jun (Prensa Latina) El Acuerdo de Asociación Estratégica Integral entre la República Popular Democrática de Corea (RPDC) y la Federación de Rusia es de carácter pacífico y defensivo, aseveró hoy aquí Kim Jong Un.
Según el presidente del Comité de Asuntos Estatales de la RPDC, el tratado tiene “un carácter verdaderamente constructivo, orientado al futuro, de carácter exclusivamente pacífico y defensivo, diseñado para proteger y defender los intereses básicos de los pueblos de ambos países”.
El acuerdo, suscrito este miércoles por Kim y por el presidente Vladimir Putin, incluye la asistencia militar mutua en caso de ataque y articulará la bilateral en busca de un nuevo orden multipolar contrario a los intentos hegemónicos de Estados Unidos.
Kim aseguró que la asociación estratégica integral entre su país y Rusia sirve a la causa de la construcción de un mundo multipolar y responde al cambio de estatus de Pyongyang y Moscú en el escenario mundial.
Subrayó, asimismo, que el acuerdo es consonante con el carácter estratégico de las relaciones entre los dos países y la conduce a una fase superior.
Las relaciones entre nuestros dos países marchan hacia un estadio prometedor y próspero para el progreso de los dos Estados y el bienestar de sus pueblos mediante la cooperación en política, economía, cultura y asuntos militares, dijo.
