Strengthening academic and scientific ties on both sides of the Atlantic is the priority of the group made up of 28 directors of the Cuban higher education institutions, headed by the director of International Relations at the MES, María Victoria Villavicencio.
Our participation here responds to a project sponsored by the Solidarity Fund for Innovative Projects, aimed at strengthening the internationalization strategy of Cuban universities, Villavicencio told Prensa Latina.
According to the director, the objective of promoting greater international presence and visibility of Cuban universities in an increasingly globalized world, is joined by that of identifying opportunities for collaboration with the main institutions of higher education and science in France.
We have already had on this first day exchanges with the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the Research Institute for Development (IRD) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, she said.
Villavicencio said that tomorrow, Campus France will host the Cuba Day, which will include presentations from both sides and bilateral meetings between universities of the two countries.

Una delegación de universidades adscritas al Ministerio de Educación Superior de Cuba (MES) comenzó hoy en esta capital un amplio programa de actividades para consolidar la cooperación con instituciones francesas e identificar nuevas oportunidades.
Estrechar los lazos académicos y científicos a ambos lados del Atlántico constituye la prioridad del grupo que integran 28 directivos de casas de altos estudios de la isla, encabezados por la directora de Relaciones Internacionales en el MES, María Victoria Villavicencio.
Nuestra participación aquí responde a un proyecto auspiciado por el Fondo de Solidaridad de Proyectos Innovadores, destinado al fortalecimiento de la estrategia de internacionalización de las universidades cubanas, comentó Villavicencio a Prensa Latina.
De acuerdo con la directiva, al objetivo de impulsar la mayor presencia y visibilidad internacional de las universidades cubanas, en un mundo cada vez más globalizado, se une el de identificar oportunidades de colaboración con las principales instituciones de educación superior y ciencia de Francia. Ya tuvimos en esta primera jornada intercambios con el Centro Nacional de la Investigación Científica (CNRS), el Instituto de Investigación para el Desarrollo (IRD) y el Ministerio de Enseñanza Superior e Investigación, resaltó.
Villavicencio adelantó que mañana en Campus France se realizará el Día de Cuba, el cual acogerá presentaciones de ambas partes y reuniones bilaterales entre universidades de los dos países.
