“There are companies that have already divided the loot at a truly derisory price,” because the assets of that Venezuelan entity amount to 21 billion dollars, declared the legislator while speaking in the legislative chamber during a debate on the subject.
He insisted that CITGO was stolen, it has already been auctioned and Gerardo Blyde, chief negotiator of the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), instead of opposing, the only thing he asked was “wait until August when the elections are over, because it can hurt us,” he added.
Rodriguez underscored that the offers have already been made and the envelopes are in the Delaware Court, where there are companies that “said that they want to appropriate” this national company, belonging to Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).
He remarked that they did not tell Americans that they were against the sale of CITGO, but that “they should do it in secret because it could harm them electorally,” and hence, the Court made the auction in a secret manner and with offers already stored in envelopes.
They want to tear it to pieces and deliver it to the United States and to the entrepreneurs who lobbied the U.S. Government, he stressed.
In this regard, he held responsible the “thieves of Horacio Medina, Leopoldo Lopez, Juan Guaido, Jose Ignacio Hernandez and Julio Borges, who agreed and were the ones who delivered it under his administration”, which covered the 2015-2020 legislative term, he stated.
